
Turkestan
Turkestan, situé au nord-ouest de Chymkent, abrite le plus beau monument du Kazakhstan (cf galerie photos) : le mausolée de Khodja Ahmad Yasawi. Le mausolée a été construit par Tamerlan (14ème siècle) et rappelle les édifices de Samarkand.
Khodja Ahmad Yasawi vécut au XIIe siècle et passa la majeure partie de sa vie à Turkestan. Fondateur de l’ordre soufi de Yasawia, il eut une grande réputation philosophique, religieuse, et poétique. Il pratiqua l'ascétisme.

Il porte surtout sur Khodja Ahmad Yasawi, le soufisme et son enseignement de l’islam.

Mosquée semi-souterraine de Hilvet (12ème/15ème siècles) :
La mosquée contient la cellule où Khodja Ahmad Yasawi se serait retiré à la fin de sa vie.
Turkestan
Turkestan, located at the north-west of Chymkent, shelters the most beautiful monument of Kazkhstan (see photo gallery) : the mausoleum of Khodja Ahmad Yasawi. The mausoleum was built by Tamerlan (14th century) and points out the buildings of Samarkand.
Khodja Ahmad Yasawi lived at the 12th century and passed the major part of its life to Turkestan. Founder of the order Sufi of Yasawia, it had a great philosophical, religious, and poetic reputation. He practised asceticism.

It is registered with the world heritage of UNESCO. To visit imperatively at the time of a travel in Kazakhstan.
Historic center, cultural and ethnographic History Museum :
It relates especially to Khodja Ahmad Yasawi, the Sufism and its teaching of Islam.
Mausoleum of the begum Rabigha-Sultan
Semi-underground Mosque of Hilvet (12th/15th centuries):
The mosque contains the cell where Khodja Ahmad Yasawi would have been withdrawn at the end of his life.
